"Vicky," It's great to see that you have managed to make the back side of the cabinet look nice. I can only wait to see the front. Remember; don't rub too hard. Garret has a point here. I learned the hard way on an 1893 fireplace mantle. I had 2 people cleaning it w/ Gojo & not only did they strip the finish off, but they took the stain off as well. So as Garret said, don't rub too hard on the case.

Hi Vicky, Seeing how you recently restored an antique fire truck, getting that bed plate sand blasted and repainted shouldn't be a problem. For the bed plate decals, I personally would choose Gregg Cline's reproduction set for your Fireside. He can be reached @ 1-419-424-1201. I'm sure he will also be at the Wayne, N.J. phono show on Oct. 12 2008. Where you live in VT, you might want to attend this great venue. Concerning the parts you need topside on the motor plate, you can try Wyatt's Musical Americana Talking Machine Co. www.wyattsmusical.com/I have one of their catalogs and it shows that the feed screw and gear plus what ever else you may need is available. They are great to deal with and fast shipping. Mark Geissler (Croakin' Frog Antiques) should be there also and he always has lids for sale on ebay. I don't have his phone # handy but perhaps someone else here does and you can call him about the availability of one. Bill

I'm guessing that the hinge block post that screws into the sound tube is broken off so you will need to get that drilled out and replace it with a new one. Bill I’m still not real clear on the nomenclature on the reproducer. I assume #1 is the Hinge Block; #2 is the Hinge Block Screw and #3 the Hinge Block Post that screws into the sound tube. I further assume #5 is the hole in the sound tube that the Hinge Block Post screws into. (I do know what happens when you assume!) Do you mean the hole in the sound tube gets drilled out and the new Hinge Block comes with the Hinge Block Post installed? If the Hinge Block Post screws into the hold in the sound tube, what is the thread size of the hole in the sound tube? Thanks a lot. Vicky

You assumed correctly on each piece. Off the top of my head I can't tell you the thread diameter or pitch. I will have to grab one of mine out of the junk box, mic it and use a thread gage to give you the # of threads per inch.
