Folks, Got any neat after-market gizmos or attachments for your phonographs? I just go this little brush from across the pond and up north. I think it's most effective attached this way: I've got another one that fits on the back of a №.2 which I'll post tomorrow. And I'll see what else I can come up with―How 'about you? Regards, J.

Funny how you chose a Cameo to play with your new toy, John! ;D
I guess I need to go digging through the gizmo box now. I've got some neat phono gadgets I can share...

Sean, Gee I don't know how that could have happened-strange coincidence. ;D (Better than the Gold band Columbia I first photographed it with. That was so greyed I'd be embarrassed to let you guys see I actually played something that worn. ) Regards, J.

John,
I note that the Cameo in your photo is the Varsity Eight's "Last Night on the Back Porch"! I know that's one of your favorite 20s songs. I'm sure you must have that song on numerous labels.

This is the "Kle-nit" record brush, and it's adjustable to fit any soundbox. This is a semi-automatic brake which I think may have been produced by Paillard? It is set by moving the large bar, and activated by the tonearm. It came with a machine I recently bought which uses Paillard running gear, but was an after-market addition as the machine still retained the original brake. It was however used as standard equiptment on larger "Victor Talking Machines" produced here in Australia during the mid to late 20's for Palings Music Stores, which also used Paillard running gear. This is the World Record Controller, which we've all seen before, used for constant speed World records. And lastly, these are not "accessories" as such, but they're pretty cool so I thought I'd include them anyway :-)

Matty,
Very neat. I saw one of those brushes on E-Bay many moons ago but couldn't figure out for the like of me how the heck you attached it! Now I know. That brake is cool looks very simple to install. The WRC is fascinating as are the Edison cylinder boxes.
Yes Rocky, it's one of my favorites. I have at least three various recordings if not one or two more. ;D
Regards, J.

I have an aftermarket type that I need to dig out. Thanks for the pics. Mario

Rocky: I think that if he could have, he’d have posted it on a Grey Gull label, out of civic pride. I could probably Photoshop a few ‘Grey Gull’ labels for him, for future use. ;D Matty: Thanks for posting the photos; it was very interesting for me to see some of your toys. I need to get around to scanning a couple of things that Neophone had lent me to post on here, especially as Christmas approaches; he has a Victor Christmas advertisement that I was wanting to post. — MordEth
