Folks, I ran across this photo attached to a band (?) review in a local paper last week. It's a tour of a "music collective" from Athens GA. called Elephants 6 I think. The photo was actually only 1-3/4 x2-3/4 in the paper and I completely missed it the first time. Two days ago I was scanning quickly through the paper before throwing it out and the 101 fairly jumped out at me. ;D I hope they knew what they had when they picked up that "prop"!!! Regards, J.

Folks, Here's a image from about 1912 of a VTLA located in the Blue Room of the White House. Possibly a post card or from a souvenir booklet. I found this on The White House Museum site. Also I found this image on-line: I forgot to note where it was from. IIRC it's from a site detailing some of the more opulent homes around San Diego, Cal. at the turn of the last century. Can you find and identify the Phonograph? ;D Regards, J.

Hi John,
It's way over on the left side of the photo, half out of the picture, with the horn doors open. Looks like an L-door VV-XVI to me (see photo on p. 99 of LFTD). The circular carvings below the lid are a dead giveaway.

Henry, Good eyes! ;D I'm going to have to find more photos like that, we could maybe have a find the phono feature every once in awhile. ;D Regards, J.

The VTLA in the color photo of the White House Blue Room is the "same" as the XVI, acc. to LFTD, but I didn't know this when I posted my response above. Should have read all of the text on p. 99! There I would have further learned that the filigree detail below the lid was removed in 1910, so this fact dates that model to the years between 1907 (first year of Victor, as opposed to Pooley, cabinets) and 1910.
