Just wondering if anyone had to replace the stylus on one of these. I have one that really sounds bad and believe the diamond may be worn

You can buy them from APSCO, and probably most other places that sell diamond disc styli. They are the same stylus, but the Dia B bar is a little smaller.

This is a magnified pic of a worn stylus from my Diamond B on an Amberola V. This was at 200x and looks horrible but not visible to the naked eye. I've found that when they produce an echo, it's usually time to change them. Ron Sitko also carries styli for your Mod. B. The run around $125.00 if I recall. He doesn't have a web site but can be reached @ 1 (518) 371-8549. His addy is: 56 Church Hill Rd. Waterford, NY 12188

Thanks for the info, I have already sent it out to have the stylus replaced and also a new diaphragm. It definitely does have an echo and sounds like it is missing the grooves of the record. I really can't complain because it was stuck in a cylinder container when I purchased a large lot of cylinders at an Auction.

Great photo! The two Ds I'm working on (yes, double Ds...hehe) are not for me. The one is for my parents, the other is a gift to my sister. I'm going to pursue building an Amberola 30 so I can collect Amberols. My sister wants a diamond disc player, so knowing this about the echo is mighty handy
