Hi! I just joined this board today and need some help. I am very happy to discover this website!!! Here is my question... I have and Edison C-19 Diamond Disc that was purchased for my Grandfather when he returned from overseas after WWI. It has been in the family since then and has never been worked on. It is in excellent shape except for the needle needs to be replaced. The only place I found that works on these old phonographs wants you to ship the entire arm to them to replace diaphragm, etc. I would really prefer to keep all of this phonograph in my possession and just get the replacement parts I need. Can anyone recommend such a place? Any information will be much appreciated!! Thanks!

You can also try Ron Sitko @ 1-(518)371-8549. He doesn't have a website, but he usually has the styli in stock for both DDs and the smaller ones for Diamond Amberolas.

I'm new here; but I would say that if you've never dealt with repairing a DD reproducer, I would send it off. It's not an easy process. I've had lots of luck with Wyatt's -- information-wise & repair-wise. Would highly recommend them. Having gotten some pretty ratty Ed. reproducers in the past, . . . you might just make sure that all the parts that should be free of friction actually are. The best 'Edisonic' reproducer I have was a rusty mass of unmovable pivots. Good luck.
