Hello I am in need of saving a few cylinders missing plaster Please can anyone guise me and help me with this quest and how to do this difficult task Thank You

Hi Edison Restorer, This is really pretty easy to do-I made up a rig from a old mandrel that I soldered a lenght of copper to for a handle. You can use either casting plaster or white clay that will harden-both are easy to find in an art supply store. Mix the plaster on the firm side and put into the cylinder with a ice tea spoon-or form clay in same area. Apply a thin coat of vasiline to the mandrel slide in firmly to the cylinder and let dry. Use reamer if necessary to clean up. I have done this to over 100 cylinders and it works really well. Abe
