I have become a huge fan of these particular cylinders. They last longer, are more durible, the sound qualty is supurb and there is no fear of mold growth. Let's face it, trying to find decent 2 min. Gold moulded cylinders, outside of shows, and ebay, is nearly imposible, especially for me. Thanks to Peter Dilg, I can now enjoy my 2 minute machine, with these new cylinders. Sure the cost more, but they have a lasting implication. Thank you Peter, for making such a fine product, and thank you shane for introduceing me to these wonderful cylinders.

Hi Marcel,
Peter does not have a web site, just an email adress. verticalcut@earthlink.net If you email him, he can send you a list of the cylinders, that he has. They are $25.00 a piece, but are worth it.

About 30 yrs ago I recorded "Whole Lotta Love" on a 2M wax(well as much as would fit!)Unfortunately, the cylinder is gone due to attrition, but it was er, interesting to hear! Bill

I just received two of these VULCAN cylinders! They are manufactured in England. I think they use the same masters/moulds as the Wizard records in the US. These are four minute records and they sound really nice. The songs were not available on Blue Amberol back in the 1920s, so they are really great songs. The two I have are "Everything is hotsy totsy now-Fox trot" by the Golden Gate Orchestra and the other one is "Copenhagen-Fox Trot" by Fry´s Million Dollar Orchestra. They were electrically dubbed from the Diamond disc and sound great on my Amberola 30. ;D ;D ;D I hope they will issue more of these 4Minutes in the future!!! Kai

That is great news!!!!! I've been hoping 4 minutes would start to be made. I've got a couple 2 min Vulcans, which are the same as wizards. I'll have to get some. I only hope they eventually release some of the amberol songs that didn't get put onto BA's or DD's. Thanks for posting.

Do you know if Wizard is also offering 4 minute records?
What do the 4 minute cylinders cost?

Yeah, Bill is correct. Peter is only produceing 2 minute cylinders, due to so many Gold Moulded ones, becomeing moldy, or cracked.

Darn! I was hoping Vulcan was getting them from Peter. Both Vulcan & Wizards cost about the same, but postage from Englands a killer.

Theis is the Vulcan And Wizard info, Duncan Miller, is the inventor of the modern cylinder molding technology, and owner of the Vulcan titles, he also makes his master wax. Peter Dilg is an expert acoustic recordist, and sends his masters to Duncan to make the molds and hard copy for the Wizard titles, Pete also does electrical recording as well, but really more enjoyes working with the acoustic method. I will admit, I get much better results dubbing acoustically, it is easier, and you have to EQ things less, the diaphragm does most of that for you, I made direct recorded brown wax records electrically with incredible fidelity, when played back with an Edisonia or Archeophone, but were too much for a model C or O. It would be hard to tell my acoustic dubbings, they sound very electric, I wish I could work with cylinders full time, but a person needs to make a living.
