hi everyone i recently acquired a Edison fireside model A phonograph however it needs parts. it needs a carriage, horn and reproducer BUT i have NO spare cash. if anyone on here has one of those 3 parts lying around and they would give them to me cheaply or even free please let me know. for those who are interested heres some info on the fireside. i bought it from a old man who lives quite close to me for £35 ($55), i know it sounds cheap but it needed work!, almost every bit on the lid had fallen apart but that was only 10 minutes work and a bit of wood glue to put it right, the bed plate is in quite good condition except for the rust forming under the paint but its not surprising considering it had sat in a shed previously, so nothing Major right, wrong! someone had obviously cannibalized the carriage, reproducer and horn if it ever had one then dumped the remains somewhere whilst those parts have probably been put on another machine or sold!, when opened up all is well mechanically, the only problem being a snapped Governor spring/weight of which i have bought a replacement, when i was at the persons house who i was buying it from we gave it a quick wind and were surprised to find it ran (except for the snapped Governor spring banging on the spring barrel). this is now one of the prized pieces of my collection because it is my first Edison phonograph. i have attached a picture of the fireside in the condition when i collected it so if anyone can help me out with this fireside PLEASE get in touch Alex Attachments:
