Next month, November, will see the centenary of the introduction of the Blue Amberol in the United States, arguably the finest record of its period.
As many examples survive and still give pleasure to thousands around the world, it would be interesting to know what is your favourite Blue (or Purple) Amberol and why.
To set the ball rolling, my favourite BA is 28137 Vissi D'Arte from Tosca sung by Adelina Agostinelli. This cylinder is beautifully recorded (from a wax Grand Opera Amberol) and is sung with perfect poise from a singer who could sometimes lapse into shrillness. I must have heard it a hundred times but it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

A good thread! Who else is going to celebrate this centennial apart from our little group, hey?
I'll vote for BA 1904: "Extase--Reverie" by the Tollefsen Trio
