Wow- will this madness ever end? At that price, I'd be wanting to hear more than just 2 mins of the record, just to make sure there were no defects.

Ahhhhhhhhh....I see.
With this "new" rule, after an item hits $200.00, all is hidden. Ebay claims it's to prevent "phishers." My bet is that Ebay doesn't want someone like me to contact the next highest bidder after close of auction and offer the same item.
Because they wouldn't make a buck on it!!!!!
This really is beyond rediculous.

Heh, I take back what I said about my guess on the high bidder.
According to the "view" feature, the high bidder only has 1-9 feedbacks and is a newbie. The bidder I thought it might have been has been on for years.
Gotta love those newbies too!!!!!!

I JUST got in from a night in Lancaster, where I picked up a mcahince from Ross Bennett (Ross, from the OTVMMB) - caught his comedy act, and it was sensational. Anyways, Ross picked up a machine for me before coming to Lancaster - I GAVE him my extra copy of this record, which is in mint condition, as a "thank you" for picking up the machine. This price is really insane - it's not worth NEAR that much. I got one copy for free in a stack of Edisons, and bought a mint copy from Charles Gregory for $40 or so about 2 years ago. INSANE!

If anyone is interested in this record, I will consider letting mine go for a mere $900 - a substantial savings, you see......

I just came home to the madness. $1,006.00.
I dunno. Are we dealing with the neuveau-riche that haven't a clue except for very deep pockets?
This new Ebay rule troubles me...............................

Matt Matt. After all is said & done, you are right. It really is only a $30-$40 record. If it came on again in a few days, it would more that likely go for the norm. If you look at the bid history, there were only 3 bidders. The first was a reasonable bid, and the second was some nit-wit that put a ridiculously high reserve and the third pecked him up, luckily not surpassing the bid of no.2. Or was it luck? I will wait to see if there is feedback on this. Bill

Folks, If you look at the bidding history you see the winner posted the high bid early and bidder 2 bid him up to the high point. I have a feeling the winner is going to be shopping around for a hit-man next ;D I can't help but wonder if the winner simply put in a ridiculous high bid the ensure winning and the other bidder figured that out and bravely decided to test the winner's resolve. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the item re-listed very soon, just like that Velvet Underground test pressing that made the news. When I think of all the records I could buy with that kind of money!!! Regards, J.

I was the low bidder with the $22.50 bid. I may have lost out on the three records in Dave's auction on which I submitted bids, but on the bright side, I did win "Show me the way" by Jack Stillman's Orchestra for $6.00 in Bill's (Maroongem) auction! Rocky
