The mainspring of an H-19 I just purchased will not wind. I took the mainspring assembly apart expecting to find a broken spring or a disengaged hub but I found no hub at all. Could this be the way it's supposed to be or is there a missing part? I'm thinking maybe I just need to tighten the inner loop of the spring so that the feature on the spindle will catch on the hole in the end of the spring. Thanks Attachments:

I got the spring out, cleaned and back in but I can't get the spindle to catch on the hole in the spring. Do I need to adjust the bend in the end of the spring? It seems like it will only work if the end with the hole is laying up against the spindle.

The end of the spring should have a pear-shaped hole. The shaft should have knob that hooks the spring. If the spring won't catch it may be necessary to take a torch to it to better fit it around the shaft. I hope this helps.
