Hello,
First time posting here. My mom has had an Edison S19 for as long as I can remember. She passed away a few years back which left me with this beautiful thing.
I've played with it over the years, always respectfully, but it's been around five years without much attention at this point. I was showing my daughter how it works, but as we went through a few records, it seemed to be losing pep (I can't think of a better way to explain it). Winding it up didn't really seem to help much. I heard some scraping, which as someone who does a lot of 3D printing and woodworking, I'm pretty used to diagnosing and addressing issues like this. I applied some lithium grease to a few places which did take care of the scraping noise, but the speed did not improve at all!
In case this helps, everything is the same as it has been - we do take really good care of it, which is only to say no parts have fallen off, or anything like that. The weights are spinning as they always have under the plate, etc. Any thoughts on where I should start to troubleshoot this?
Thank you!

Have you ever cleaned the motor? Old oil can get gummy. Have you checked the mainspring? The grease can lose its viscosity after 100 years, and springs can get 'tired' as well. Perhaps you can send it out for service (DD springs are rather a chore to work with). How's the horn height? Not sure if that would affect the speed, but it's best to make sure.
Hope these suggestions may be of some help.
