After many steps, I got a family hand down Edison Fireside restored and operating well. Story told in a video linked below.
Physicist vs Thomas Edison Phonograph (Revival).
An Edison Cylinder player for 1915 is recovered from the old family farm in Wisconsin and moved to Berkeley. It is rebuilt to play music for the grand daughter of the original owner.

From the date of sale, I assume this Fireside is a Model B (4 minute only). It may have been older store stock, as Edison stopped manufacturing outside horn phonographs the previous year. The factory fire of December 1914 wiped out the previous models; when production resumed, they offered a new, redesigned line of internal horn Amberolas and Diamond Disc machines.

Thanks. I was guessing about the date it was purchased based on some earlier information. It looks like 1914 is a better guess. I didn't know about the fire in 1914. In any case it is a Fireside Model B four minute only as you suggest. We have some information on purchases made at the family farm but not this one. It has a full size Morning Glory horn with the Edison label on it. Truth be told we are guessing Henry Amundson purchased it in Madison, as that was the only nearby city. We know there was no Amazon Prime at the time.
