So, what's the problem with the mandrel? Bad plating doesn't mean it's junk. Maybe shaft could be welded back together? Bill Cahill

Bill the problem is there is a large bump on the end of the mandrell :oI rather replace it than fix it I will somday find orignal parts thanks for the question

You would be better served if you bought this unit complete (mandrel & shaft) as it was press fit together and trued at the factory. I wouldn't suggest buying these pieces seperately for that reason.

Hi William,
Unfortunately, the B mandrel & feedscrew are totally different from the Mod. D. The B was designed as a 2M machine (and the mandrel was supported by an endgate) originally, and although Edison offered a special combination attachment in 1908 to change from 2 to 4M, the D had a different configuration and was without an endgate.
