Listening to the sound clip it sounds a bit off-center and wobbly! I think I'll pass on this one. C.

If I were to spend such an outrageous sum on the cylinder, "My Sin" would refer to much more than the title of the song, and it would be "my sin" whether it were BA $......I mean.....BA#5713, #5714, #5715, or #5716.

Ah, yes, I came across that this morning and posted it on the V board. Ridiculous!

Yeah, I read you post on the other board and I'm with you paying that much for a cylinder that could split either in transit (and try getting the money from the PO for that amount!) or sitting in your cabinet and splitting from shrinkage & age.

I really sat and listened to the sound clip today, and I have to say ala Moran & Mack, "Boy, even if that was good I wouldn't like it." I suppose it's the novelty of owning one of the last 7 BAs? one has to wonder how many of the limited copies of this cylinder left the factory and how many ended up in the bonfire.

For the life of me I don't get the pricing either. I am certain that a "record guy" could easily point to the prices paid for oddball machines (bringing $10K+ easily) while being a machine guy I could justify it. The only reason I would pay more than $10.00 for a record is if it was historically significant. The last 10 cylinders selling for $2K that were dubbed from easily obtainable DD's doesn't make sense.
To each his own I guess.

Huh...........the bidder must have had 2nd thoughts. It's back to the opening bid of $1,000.00 with reserve not met, which was two grand I'm guessing. Still, there's a little over a day left so it still may turn into a snipe-fest.
