What a cool and novel take on the song, Matt! And speaking of independence, this might be an appropriate time to post the sound file to Joe Belmont's "Independentia March." I guess even the birds celebrate the 4th of July! This is the Columbia cylinder rendition (No. 31840): cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/mp3s/4000/4686/cusb-cyl4686d.mp3Joe Belmont also recorded the song for Edison and Victor. Rocky

I wonder if the birds that were chirping away in the "Independentia March" were exclusive to Columbia or if they were freelancers. I would think that the birds deserved additional compensation as they risked falling into the horn and suffocating.
;D
