Man, I need to come in here more often. Well??? That's not entirely true. If I keep comming in here on a daily basis, then nothing ever happens. Of course, when I don't pop in daily, then stuff happens. A few of my threads, includeing this one received replies.
Hello, and welcome to all new mebmbers, who I have not met yet?

Hello all,
I think I am switching over to this board from the OTVMMB, for the most part. That said, it's great to be here.

It would be nice if a person could state things as they are without the pressure to conform that exist elsewhere. I have started to realize I have to feel guilt for expressing the truth, which evidently is frowned on elsewhere and perhaps here as well. I know everyone wants to be diplomatic I have a hard time understanding why that entails pampering people who are obviously delusional.. Well I did it again..

I never noticed any problems over on the OTVMMB? Then again, I'm not always reading everything, unless it's something I have posted. That's just me.

Paul,
There have been TONS of problems over there lately...mainly a certain "new" member and a certain "moderator" who seem to have taken over with relentless and senseless banter that has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of intelligent discussion, whether about phonographs or not! It's fine to drift OT once in awhile, but it happens in every thread now. I'm tired of it too and I'm not surprised to hear others are beginning to feel the same way.

I've permanently switched over. After having the same account since when the OTVMMB started, I deleted it last night. I'll post a QRS feature in the coming weeks when I get more time to get things started off.

I'd like to make a comment here. Some people apparently think that everyone should agree with their opinions and anyone who doesn't is somehow a bad person. Life has no guarantees, especially when it comes to being offended or not. That's why I created "thread hell" for off topic material since, of course, off topic threads occur, as they should. Our lives aren't dictated by a crank sticking out of our sides, at least not all the time. Frankly, I'm shocked by you, Garret, deleting your account in hopes of causing your posts to vanish along with your account. Unfortunately for you, your posts still exist and not even I can remove them nor can they be removed from search engine caches even if I could remove them. They simply remain as 'guest posts' on the servers and in caches like google and lexus nexus with the associated public data. I know exactly why you deleted your account but unfortunately anyone searching for them would still find them on Google, waybackachine or any other search engine. Even if I could delete them (which I could do one-by-one which would take me months to do) they would still be search-able. Had you not deleted your account and asked me to delete it for you, I could have removed everything from the board including any email associations, but those associations still exist in search engine caches free for the searching. After you deleted your account I was queried by a major political party as to your affiliations. I replied that they should ask you about it and not me because your political affiliations are none of my business and if they want that sort of information they should contact you instead of bothering me by email, phone and snail-mail. One must remember that one must stick by what one has said in the past and not try to hide association for political reasons. Remember, I was good personal friends with Abbie Hoffman and Gus Hall who were as far from me politically speaking as possible. Yet I do not hesitate for a moment to acknowledge that I knew and associated with them. Did I also mention that I know Barack Obama personally? Yupper. I remember him when he attended Columbia U, which is more than his classmates remember (and they don't even remember him). Hey, I used to go drinking with Abbie Hoffman at a bar in New Hope, PA called John & Peter's. Funny, isn't it? I have better Liberal credentials for being Conservative. ;D Nigthy, night! Dan, evil Conservative and Lover of America. P.S.: Everyone is over at the OTVMMB. Dan, This is inappropriate in my opinion. Regards, J.

Ditto John and Bill.
P.S. After reading the above posts, I too have deleted my account on OTVMMB.

Is everyone happy now?
I used to have a link on my board connecting to this board, but I removed it. There's no point in directing people to a board whose new sole purpose prior to my earlier post is to trash the OTVMMB.
Oh, and by the way, on the OTVMMB Ultona=Garret=Joblowhard and many, many more according to the logs.
You guys got him, now you can live with him.
Have a nice day!

I have been a member of the OTVMMB for a long time. The Board may have some problems, and I've openly expressed my views on that Board regarding the present situation. However, my association with the Board has been of great benefit to me in many ways over the years. I enjoy the OTVMMB and have no intention of leaving.
I've also been a member of this message board from the very beginning and I enjoy being here. Personally, I see the two message boards as complementing one another. I would like to see the Edison discussion board prosper and grow, but on our own merits, and not as a refuge from another venue.

Rocky,
I agree with you whole heartedly-I have learned much and have good feelings about the Vic Board in spite of my current complaint.

I agree with Rocky -
Lots of good stuff on both boards. To each his/her own.
