Paul, it's quiet here because all our members have been abducted by aliens. The aliens are asking for DDs as ransom.

Paul, We're all around the block havin' a donnybrook! Over here I make more of an effort to stay on-topic, as do other I think; and I have very little new of a phonographic nature to report. I did finally get a new 'Black Face' Eddie Ross record I've been waiting for from Canada.... Bill, I was right to be pessimistic! It arrived taped between two pieces of cardboard; you know the rest folks...... Canadian Victor 19213 Ross' Ju Ju Man b/w Ross' Florida Cracker A lovely four-sided record now. GRRRRRRRR! ................................................ Regards, J.

John, I'm sorry to hear that the record was sent that way. I'm not one for leaving a negative, but if he doesn't make some kind of effort to rectify shoddy packaging, he deserves at least a buyer beware in his feedback. On the other hand, he can't leave a retalitory negative against you according to the new eBay rules, can he? Bill

Bill, I'm waiting to hear back from him; I sent him a message about the broken record earlier this week. I don't think I've actually ever given someone negative feedback while I've been buying with my own E-Bay account. Maybe the idiot who cashed my money order then filed a non-payment against me, but I think he only got a neutral. We'll see-you heard some of his feedback. Regards, J.

John, I hope that this gets resolved to your satisfaction. It's fortunate that you're not one of those people who bid exorbitantly on discs and cylinders.

Rocky,
Thanks. Sadly to my way of thinking this was exorbitant; I hate buying ONE record from a seller and paying the shipping costs that are similar to shipping twenty records. I haven't heard back form him yet......
Regards, J.

Hey guys Ive just signed up to this board and have been reading others comments with interest - also able to download instructions as to how to make up a belt. Being a baby boomer from down-under I have just renewed my passion in Edisons - bought three in my youth over 40 years ago and in the past 12 months acquired another 7 machines. Lounge room looks like a museum much to the wife's disgust. I have a question I bought a suitecase squarebox standard with a repro slotted handle which seems a little floppey on the motor shaft. Where could I get an origional handle or a repro that fits this machine properly. Love the site - any ausies signed in? on this site? cheers Claude from Brisbane oh, Ive got a tone of other questions so love tpo hear from you compatriots

Hi Claude, Welcome to the board. I believe there are several Aussies on this board and several more on the OTVMM board: sonoraman.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=generalI'll let our resident Aussies introduce themselves as they stumble back into the room. Regards, Scott

Hi Claude, Greeting from Brisvegas also! (Cleveland actually) I also started collecting Edison's (amongst others) when I was young, 30 yrs ago this December. Did/do you know John Simpson, Ken Beach or Alf Pepper? They've been in the game for longer than me, although Alf passed away last year.
Re handle: If you can't find an original, I wonder if you could put a sleeve in the handle & drill it out to the right size?
