For me the fascination started at the early age of 12 when I got an Amberola DX and about 25 cylinders . This is the same for me today 28 years later however the excitement has lessened a bit over the years as the collection continues to grow.

Does anyone have a source for Edison transfer decals? I have seen the the plastic water transfers and they really don't come close to the originals and don't look good on an hand rubbed Shellac Finish. Were they originally done as a stencil?

I believe I have his site on my computer. I had bought reproducers off him many years ago while his business was called "Terra Firma". Thanks again for the info

Thanks for the info. I was just curious on speed and duration . I could have had about 15 ( as 1.50 ea) about 25 yrs ago but as a 15 year old I didn't have a player and never would have thought they would be so valuable as today.

Sometimes E-bay does get high prices for certain models. Sometimes prices really shoot up there depending how the item is listed and how bad someone wants it. During the summer I came across an antique dealer in NEPa that had quite the # of Edisons for sale. For eaxmple he had a Home mod A Suitcase w/ c reproducer for $1695.00, A Standard mod D w/ Morning Glory Horn w/h reproducer for 1250.00. He was selling Cylinders from $10.00 up ( most of which I wouldn't take for free). And he did have a Home mod E w/ frozen bearings for $ 650.00 missing reproducer.

What rpm does a Concert Cylinder play at ? I have never heard one play are the recordings comparable to a Gold Moulded or Brown Wax? From what I have read the rpm's are faster producing a clearer much louder tone.

That's interesting? Where can a book such as that be purchased? It's hard to find good publications especially with photos. Thanks for the info.

I have never seen one come in blue. They were most common in black , woodgrained in Oak or Mahogany. Mahogany being the least common or even considered rare! Maybe other colors did exist?

Thank's for the info. I do check my collection from time to time and do run a dehumidifier from May til Oct. Like I said befor I have not experienced any problem yet but am always looking for other opinions. It's much easier taking care of my 45 rpm's.

I've seen these quite often on E-bay but they can be very pricy. There was one recently repainted Royal Blue but I don't remember what the asking price was. I know that there are reproductions out there that go for much less if that may help.

I have only played this once or twice since I don't have a B or Automatic reproducer. However it is Natus that is the singer. There are a # of these that have the original artist crossed off on the slips with another artist either typed of written in. I'm guessing that the store may have had unused lables or something. In the lot there were many home recordings (some really good) with titles, dates and artists typed on paper. It was a find even 25 years ago at .65 cents each.

Thanks for the info. At the present I only own models A &B in Standard, Home, and Triumph and hence have not run into this problem but as my collection grows I am sure to run into this problem at some point.
Thanks Again
