The Ebay posted description that was made by this individual was, quite frankly, over the top. I missed the posts from the other night between Dan & this individual, but was updated by another member as they had been deleted. The issue should have died there, but this asshat chose to create a disparaging description of a phono photo using Dan's surname in said description. He has also gone off on me several times, with very bizarre sexual references. This of course is something Dan has to take care of, and why he hasn't is rather perplexing. We do get silly here at times, but not to the extent nor the nastiness of the other board. Other brands of phonos can be discussed here without fear of a member constantly knocking another brand ad nauseum. I would hope that the membership grows here due to people jumping ship from the other board due to the incessant nonsense that goes on there.

Paul, O.K. So what is the topic of this tread? I thought it was Threads getting off topic. I thought that was the topic we were discussing, but it that's not the topic of this thread then what is the topic? I'd be more than happy to stay on topic, but sadly I've forgotten what the topic was! I did think we touched on other topics but kept coming back to the main topic. I had assumed these were sub-topics of the main topic. These sub-topics having direct bearing on the main topic ergo still being the topic. I always want to be topical! I try so very hard. OUCH! My brain hurts! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Regards, J. John plays with those little figures..........a lot. Is that off-topic enough for you? Bill

I think if we all just refused to rise to the bait that LN offers and simply ignored him, I think he would eventually cease. My take on him is that he is a miserable human being that reviles in making other's lives as miserable.

If you plan on sniping, don't bother if GKMNEWPORT is high bidder, unless you want to spend more than a $1,000 for a DD!

This past weekend's show in Wayne was probably the best attended one that I have been to, but unfortunately for me, the least fruitful. BAs were almost non existent, and the ones there were all pretty common ones, I didn't find any late ones for sale at all. There were a fair number of DDs, ranging from incised to paper labels, but I did notice that the electricals there were fairly high and am wondering if the dealers bumped the prices due to a certain EBayer that has been paying ridiculous amounts for these. I do know that one dealer had a list on his table with prices that this particular eBayer had paid, and when I looked through what he had, I got a little song & dance from him about how expensive these records have become. He must have thought I just fell off the apple cart! There were some really nice machines there for the novice, and I was surprised to see a good number of Columbia coin-ops for sale. One of the vendors had a C-2 & a C-4 Edison Radio/phono combo for sale and I was sorely tempted to grab the C-4(though I really had no room for it!) but mercifully, someone else bought it when I went back to look at it. These had both been completely gone through and sounded & looked great! We went to the informal pre-show on saturday where some of the dealers set up and I snagged a minty copy of My Blue Heaven by VDL for five bucks. I also picked up a nice copy of Somewhere In Naples/Yoo-Hoo by Lanin's Orchestra on the 1st style black paper label as well as Hallelujah Corus/Gloria Twelfth Mass by the Gregorian Choir. Those were two bucks per and a good deal. I bought one of Peter Dilg's latest Wizards, Me And My Shadow, and they do sound really great! All in all it wasn't a bad show, but I came away with very little in the DD dept and zero BAs. Hopefully, next week's show in Danbury will be more fruitful in the record dept!!!

I am looking forward to this summer, when I'll finally have some time to enjoy the recordings I've been buying. Work has me very busy lately. Matt Well, there ya are!! I'm sure I can speak for the rest saying hopefully the ban on pests, er I mean pets. is still on. ;D ;D ;D Bill

It would be really great if this board had more postings. I think it may draw more people to join, and not to mention there seems to be quite a bit less dissension here!
I'll try and do my part!!!

With the price of that holder, Im wondering how long it will be before someone starts making repros to pass off as originals. One went the week prior for $710.00. Heh, I guess that was a bargain!!!! Bill

Paul,
When you delete the image from your album on Photobucket, it is also deleted wherever you posted it. Use the IMG code line for posting pix by right clicking on it, copying and pasting it to wherever you wish to post it.

Paul,
You'll have to tell my what probs you are having with Photobucket as I have never run into any. I just posted some pix of my Opera with them and I think they came out ok.
