Larry,
Part of my job is research...I find things and then find ways to find them with greater efficiency.

Might I recommend you try: www.searchtempest.com/ Just plug in your zipcode and search under "Edison," "phonograph," or "victrola." You'll find many a machine within driving distance. I find using craigslist superior to ebay, because at least this way you can inspect the machines up close and personal and unlike auctions, you are the only prospective buyer in most cases.

I picked up some gold silk at JoAnn's Fabric. I'm pleased with the results and I think you would be too:

I finally installed some fabric behind the grill. Here are the results: I'm more than satisfied with this. It's a gold silk with black in it, and it has a nice greenish tint to it.

Nice Song N the Phono Sounds great as Per the Edison d PLease email me on it ok rock50scollector@verizon.net many Thanks from william S Personally, I think this blows the Edisons sound-wise out of the water. Granted, with an Edisonic reproducer and an electrically recorded DD, I don't know how it will stack up. Here's a worn record playing on the victrola:

To clean the turntable felt, use naphtha. Do you mean something like this?: or this?: Blue can = YES

Thank you. What type of oil/grease do you suggest to use? I cleaned it up except for the felt i remember reading somewhere about a specific chemical one should use but I can't remember any suggestions for cleaning it? To clean the turntable felt, use naphtha. You can buy it in cans at Home Depot or Lowes. Basically, sprinkle amount of it on the felt working from the center to the outer edge, like a spiral pattern. Use a clean white rag to then blot the felt, working from the inside out again. You want to get the entire felt moistened with the naphtha when you do this, otherwise you will get spots.

I have two Edison DD bedplates, one single spring motor, one turntable, one spindle assembly, oil tubes, one governor assembly, two horn feedscrew shafts, and a few other small things if anyone is looking for them. Want the closest space back honestly, haha.
A thought was to build myself another DD and install it in a custom cabinet, but at this point I just want the closet space back and would rather pass on the parts to someone who can use them.
Price-wise? Shipping will be killer due to the weight, but everything for $50 + shipping I'll throw out as a start. Otherwise to ebay they will go.
